How we keep every dive safe
A calm, well-prepared dive day starts with small groups, a good briefing and the right safety equipment on the boat.
- One guide for every two divers
- Oxygen and first aid on every trip
- Life jackets on board
- We choose the site on the day, around the real weather
On every trip
This is on the boat for every group, every day.
One guide for every two divers
A guide-to-diver ratio of 1:2 means your guide can really watch you, not just lead the way.
Oxygen and first aid
An oxygen tank and a first aid kit are on board on every trip.
Sting care
We carry vinegar and sting-relief ointment for jellyfish and similar stings.
Life jackets
Life jackets are on the boat for everyone.
How we prepare
- A Dive Registration form with health questions, reviewed by our team
- A briefing before every dive
- Sites chosen on the day by weather, currents and sea conditions
- Local guides who know the reefs and the currents
Your part
- Breathe normally and never hold your breath
- Equalize early and often, and tell your guide if your ears hurt
- Stay close to your guide and follow the plan
- Drink water, and avoid alcohol before you dive
- Wait at least 18 hours before flying after your last dive
The sea has the last word. If conditions are not suitable on your dive day, we talk to you on WhatsApp about the best alternative. Safety comes before the schedule.
Safety questions
Is scuba diving safe?
Scuba diving has real risks, and we take them seriously. Following the briefing, diving within your training, breathing normally and telling your guide if anything feels wrong all keep the risk low.
What if I have a health condition?
Answer the health questions in the Dive Registration form honestly. If something needs a closer look we talk it through with you before you dive. Some conditions need a doctor's advice first.
What if I feel seasick or uneasy?
Tell your guide. There is no pressure to dive, and a calm start is better than a rushed one.
Is dive insurance included?
No. Insurance is not included, so please arrange your own travel and dive insurance before you come. Ask us if you would like suggestions.
What is the minimum age?
Discovery Scuba Diving is open from age 10.
