Before you book

How can I pay?
You can pay by QRIS, bank transfer or cash. Credit cards are accepted too, with a 3% admin fee. A deposit of at least 50% is needed to secure your trip. See payment and cancellation.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel one day before your trip, 75% of your deposit is returned. If you cancel on the day of the trip, the deposit is not returned. See payment and cancellation for details.
Do I need a diving license?
Fun Dive is for certified divers. If you are new to scuba, Discovery Scuba Diving is designed for first-time and non-certified participants, with step-by-step guidance.
How much does it cost?
Fun Dive is IDR 1,400,000 per person when 2–4 divers are on the trip and IDR 1,250,000 per person when 5–10 divers are on the trip, counted on the day and including you. Discovery Scuba Diving is IDR 1,600,000 per person and snorkeling is IDR 300,000 per person. A private trip adds IDR 750,000 per group. See the price page for what is included.
Can I have a private trip?
Yes, for Fun Dive and Discovery Scuba Diving. A private trip adds IDR 750,000 for your whole group, not per person, so two Fun Dive divers pay 2 × IDR 1,400,000 + IDR 750,000. Snorkeling is always a shared trip.
What is included in a dive day?
Full scuba equipment, two dives, boat trip, lunch and drinks, tourist tickets, dive torch, a local guide, and underwater photos and videos shared by a private link with no expiry date.
What if I am the only diver booking?
Our trips run with a minimum of 2 divers. If nobody else has booked your date yet, we will contact you on WhatsApp. You can choose another date to join a group, or go on a private trip: IDR 2,150,000 for one Fun Dive diver and IDR 2,350,000 for one Discovery Scuba guest (the normal rate plus the IDR 750,000 private trip fee). If another diver joins your date later, we will let you know so you can switch to the shared rate. Snorkeling always runs as a shared trip.
Can you pick me up?
Pickup is free from accommodations around Karimunjawa town. Pickup outside the town area may have an additional transport fee. Add your accommodation to the booking request and we will confirm the details.
What safety equipment do you carry?
Every trip carries a first aid kit, emergency oxygen, life jackets, vinegar and pain-relief ointment for jellyfish stings and similar minor injuries.
Is dive insurance included?
No, insurance is not included. If you would like cover, ask us and we can share referral links for travel insurance and DiveAssure.
What is the minimum age for Discovery Scuba Diving?
The minimum age for Discovery Scuba Diving is 10 years old.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and a change of dry clothes. Certified divers should also bring their certification card and logbook. If you take regular medication or get seasick easily, bring what you need and tell your guide.
Can I fly after diving?
Most dive organizations recommend waiting at least 18 hours after your last dive before flying. If your flight is soon after your dive day, tell us when you book so we can plan around it.
Can a non-diving partner join the boat?
A non-diving companion can usually join, subject to space and the trip plan. Contact us to confirm for your date.
I have my own equipment.
Let us know what you are bringing when you contact us so we can confirm the applicable arrangement.
Is Discovery Scuba Diving a certification course?
No. It is an introductory diving experience and does not issue an Open Water certification.

On the day

How big are the dive groups?
Our guide-to-diver ratio is 1:2. When needed, an additional local sweeper supports the group to help keep the dive organized and comfortable.
Where will we dive?
We choose sites according to weather, currents, sea conditions, certification and experience. Tell us whether you prefer reefs, marine life or wrecks and we will use that when planning the day. Specific sites cannot be guaranteed.
Is Indonor suitable for every diver?
No. Indonor Wreck planning depends on conditions, certification and diver experience.
How deep will I go on a Discovery dive?
The maximum depth is 12 metres. The first session begins in a shallow sandy area around 2–5 metres.
What if I feel uncomfortable?
The first dive begins with shallow-water practice. Progression to the reef depends on your comfort and your guide’s assessment.
Are sharks common in Karimunjawa?
No. Sharks and larger pelagic animals are uncommon, so sightings cannot be expected or guaranteed.

After the dive

When will I receive my photos and videos?
Underwater documentation is usually uploaded within 2 × 24 hours. We share the full-resolution files through cloud storage and keep the link available without an expiry date.
Are photos and videos extra?
No. They are included in the price.
