Your first dive, step by step

  1. Before the trip

If possible, visit our shop the evening before for a quick gear fitting and briefing. It makes the morning calmer and gives you time to ask questions.

  2. Equipment, briefing and safety

On the day we go through the equipment, the briefing and basic safety before anything starts.

  3. Start shallow

We begin over a sandy area around 2–5 m for roughly 5–10 minutes of practice, at your own pace.

  4. Dive 1: the reef

When you are comfortable, you continue to the reef with your guide beside you. Maximum depth 12 m.

  5. Island lunch

Surface interval and lunch on the island, around 11:00–13:00.

  6. Dive 2: another guided reef dive

Again with a maximum depth of 12 m. We are back in Karimunjawa around 15:00.
